it has been developed to allow the uation of the corrosion resistance of metals used in vehicle bodies where there is a significant influence of chloride ions, mainly as sodium chloride from winter road de-icing salt. this test is cyclic in nature, i.e.; test specimens are exposed to changing climates over time.
test specimens are placed in an enclosed chamber and exposed to a changing climate.
the test comprises 3 alternative 24 hour single cycles, methods a, b and c.
method a comprises 17 hours saltwater spraying, 3 hours forced drying, 2 hours saltwater dipping and finally 2 hours natural drying.

交变循环腐蚀试验条件 1、盐水喷雾
盐水喷雾应按照tsh1552g表1中所示的条件进行。在试验期间，盐水预热器，加湿器和喷雾器内的温度应持续保持在50±1℃。
2、盐水浸泡
试样放置在一个塑料容器后，按tsh1552g第2.3节，将准备的盐水装满容器，直到试样完全浸入。将容器盖上盖子，储存在恒温加热炉内，炉温控制在50±1℃。当试样浸入的时候，盐水温度应达到50±1℃。
3、强制干燥
将试样放在配备有通风扇的烘干机内，这样试样容易干燥。在风扇作用下，提高烘干机温度，从室温（15-20℃）提高至70℃，并在的时间内保持温度在70±1℃，湿度在30%或更低一些。
4、自然干燥
将试样保留在房间里，这样试样容易干燥。在试验期间虽然没有特殊的通风要求。建议是保持室温在20-30℃
5、润湿条件
在的时间内，将试样暴露在温度50±1℃湿度85-90%条件下。 试验时间和试样数量 应按照要求确定试验时间（周期数），考虑零件的腐蚀环境。如果同时要对工件寿命的持续时间进行评估，那么为此目的要专门准备另外的试样。 其它相关盐雾循环腐蚀试验标准：astm g85
