Product Overview
Alcohol settling tank is a device used to separate components of different densities in liquid mixtures, commonly used in industrial and laboratory substance separation processes. Its working principle is based on the density differences of different components in liquid mixtures.
Alcohol settling tanks typically consist of a tall cylindrical container with an inlet and an outlet at the top. The mixture enters the alcohol settling tank from the inlet and forms two levels of low concentration and high concentration inside the container.
The alcohol settling tank usually contains one or more partition plates inside, which are used to increase the contact area of the emulsion and improve the separation effect. These partition plates help promote the flow of emulsions and increase the chances of substances of different densities coming into contact with each other.
In an alcohol settling tank, due to the density differences of different substances, heavier substances will settle to the bottom to form a concentrated layer of the mixture, while lighter substances will float to the top to form a dilution layer of the mixture. In this way, by controlling the position of the inlet and outlet, the concentration layer and dilution layer can be discharged separately.
The working principle of alcohol settling tank can be achieved through gravity separation and electrostatic balance. Gravity separation refers to the phenomenon of heavy matter sinking and light matter rising. Electrostatic equilibrium refers to the phenomenon in which a substance remains in equilibrium in a liquid due to the action of static electricity. These basic principles enable the alcohol settling tank to effectively separate components of different densities.
In general, the alcohol settling tank divides the liquid mixture into a concentration layer and a dilution layer by utilizing the density differences of different components in the liquid mixture, and through the mechanisms of gravity separation and electrostatic equilibrium, and discharges them separately. This separation process has a wide range of applications in fields such as chemistry, biology, and pharmaceuticals.
