During WEDM, a pulse discharge is performed between the electrode wire and the workpiece. When an electric pulse comes, a spark discharge is generated between the electrode wire and the workpiece. In the center of the discharge channel, the temperature can reach above 10,000°C instantaneously. The high temperature melts the metal of the workpiece, thereby achieving the purpose of cutting metal.
