Straight sided axial worm shaft, also known as ZA worm, is a kind of worm in the plane perpendicular to the axis of the worm shaft, tooth profile for the Archimedes helix. On the plane containing the axis, has a straight tooth profile and has a tooth profile Angle α0 of 20°.
This design enables to transmit motion and power effectively through its spiral tooth profile when the worm is rotating. In particular, when the worm rotates, it will drive its engaging worm gear to rotate together, to achieve the transmission function.
Straight sided axial worm shaft with its simple structure and wide application fields shows its unique value in transmission and hydraulic machinery.
